抄録

We present a case of allergic intermittent fever induced by internal titanium plate fixation. A 77-year-old man fell down and injured his ankle. Internal titanium plate fixation of his lateral malleolar fracture was performed. Later, intermittent fever appeared and did not improve by antibiotics. The reason of the fever was not found by general examination. After removing the plate, intermittent fever improved immediately. The bacterial culture was negative and no clinical infectious finding was recognized. Titanium patch test was positive. The case was considered as allergic intermittent fever induced by internal titanium plate fixation.
