抄録

Various histological types of tumors can originate in the nasal septum. We report 10 cases of malignant tumors of the nasal septum, treated over the past 18 years. The pathological diagnoses of the tumors were as follows; six cases of squamous cell carcinoma, two adeno carcinomas, one malignant lymphoma, and one malignant melanoma. Six cases of squamous cell carcinoma and two cases of adenocarcinoma were treated with a combination therapy of radiation, chemotherapy and/or surgery. One malignant lymphoma was treated with radiation and chemotherapy, and one malignant melanoma was treated with interferon. A histologic examination is considered mandatory for such cases since the optimum treatment depends on the histological findings.
