Abstract

Anodic porous alumina, which is formed by anodization of Al in an acidic solution, has been attracting considerable interest due to its highly ordered naturally occurring nanohole array architectures. The mechanism of the formation of hole array structures of the anodic porous alumina and control of its geometrical structures for preparing nanodevices are shown. In addition, examples of application for the preparation of several types of nanodevices are also described.
