抄録

Mesenteric malignant lymphoma is a rare disorder and tends to be discovered after a tumor has enlarged because it is asymptomatic in the early stage. Accordingly the prognosis is poor. We experienced a case of mesenteric malignant lymphoma presenting typical image findings. The patient was a 68-year-old woman complaining of abdominal distension. Abdominal ultrasonography (US), CT, Ga scintigraphy performed in another hospital offered a suspicion of a malignant tumor of the small intestine and she was referred to the hospital. Typical ‘Sandwich sign’ was identified on abdominal CT scan and US. Upon laparotomy a tumor was present at the root of the mesentery part, and required extensive resection of the small intestine, so we performed incisional biopsy. It was pathologically diagnosed as malignant lymphoma, diffuse large B cell type. The patient was given three courses of postoperative CHOP treatment, and has been well, as of 6 months after the operation. The usefulness of ‘Sandwich sign’ on image in making diagnosis of mesenteric malignant lymphoma was confirmed again in this case.
