To solve various problems related to energy and environment, it is important to clearly under-stand them at first. At the same time, it is important to promote energy and environmental education, which includes environmentally friendly actions such as recycling to reduce energy, consumption, environmental burden. and waste.<BR>This paper describes the historical background of environmental education in Japan, followed by a review of educational results, which introduced LCA concepts in environmental education. These include the development of materials on energy and environmental issues. This educational project, which targeted high school students, was carried out as part of a project entitled, ‘Super Science High School (SSH) ’. The project was found to be effective and revealed that students recognized waste issues and the importance of recycling.
