舌根部甲状腺の3例を経験した.症例1は37歳女性で, 咽頭痛で受診した際に舌根部の著明な腫脹を認めた.症例2は40歳女性で, 人間ドックにて耳鼻咽喉科を受診した際に舌根部の腫脹を指摘された.症例3は45歳女性で, 咳を主訴に受診した際に舌根部の腫脹を指摘された.全例とも, MRIで舌根部に腫瘤を認め, 前頸部の本来存在すべき部位に甲状腺を認めなかった.甲状腺シンチグラムにて舌根部のみに集積がみられたため舌根部の異所性甲状腺であることが確認された-全例でTSHが高値であり, 2例でFree-T<SUB>4</SUB>が低下しており, 甲状腺ホルモンの投与を開始したところ腫脹は徐々に軽減した.

We reported three cases of lingual thyroid. A 37-year-old female with a complaint of throat pain, a 40-year-old female with no symptoms, and a 45-year-old female with a complaint of cough came to our clinic. Hemispheric swelling at the base of the tongue was pointed out in all cases. MRI examination showed these lesions as round masses at the base of the tongue and the thyroid glands were not present at the normal position. Tc scintigram showed accumulation only at the base of the tongue. We diagnosed these lesions as ectopic thyroids of the base of the tongue. High levels of TSH were found in all cases and low levels of F-T<SUB>4</SUB> were found in two cases. The administration of thyroid hormone led to a reduction of swelling of the lingual thyroid.
