ひずみを与えたAC4C合金及びAl-17mass%Si合金の半溶融温度での組織変化 Microstructural Changes of Strained AC4C and Al-17mass%Si Alloys at Semi-Solid Temperatures
Stirring process is widely adopted in thixo-casting, however, grain growth is observed during stirring.<br> Heating of strained specimens was therefore carried out at semi-solid temperatures to obtain semi-solid slurry. Fine granular structure specimens were obtained by heating up to semi-solid temperature. AC4C alloy and Al-17 mass%Si alloy were used. Specimens were hot rolled or cold rolled. In AC4C alloy, α-phase was separated and granulated after heating up to the semi-solid temperatures, after which the temperature of granulation was lowered with increase in the rolling reduction rate. In hot rolled Al-17 mass%Si alloy, α-phase became globular, however, fine primary Si was not observed. In the cold rolled specimen, only refining was possible. By combining hot rolling and cold rolling, α-phase was successfully separated and granulated, and primary Si became fine in the Al-17 mass%Si alloy.
