Abstract
In the evaporative pattern casting process, the pattern is decomposed by the heat of cast molten metal and the gas generated by decomposition is exhausted to the mold. As a result, the molten metal is substituted with the pattern and the cavity is filled. The inflow behavior of the molten metal in the evaporative pattern casting is therefore different from other molds with cavities due to resistance from the pressure of the decomposition gas of the pattern etc. <br> In this report, the thermal decomposition behavior of foam polystyrene was investigated, and inflow to the molten metal of copper alloys in evaporative pattern castings was observed, and their basic characteristics were clarified.
