<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>A series of novel oligothiophenes, trimer, hexamer, nonamer, and dodecamer, attached with benzyl ether dendrons at the molecular sides has been developed. Since the dendron pendants prevent the formation of π-dimers, the electronic absorption spectra of the dodecamer under doping reveal the involvement of chain dimers and bipolarons as other possible charge carrier species for conductive polythiophenes.</jats:p>
