抄録

We investigated 27 hips in 25 patients with a follow up ranging from a half year to 10 years (average 3 years) after Sugioka transtrochanteric rotational osteotomy for non-traumatic avascular necrosis of the femoral head.<br>The radiological success rate that defined non-appearance of postoperative collapse of the femoral head was 67%. The intact area of lateral part of the femoral head on postoperative anteroposterior view of the hip roentgraph was useful for predict outcomes.<br>8 hips, with the ratio of transposed intact articular surface of the femoral head was further 72% and as well as the ratio of transposed intact area of the lateral part in the femoral head was further 90%, were all succeeded.<br>we concluded that in addition to surface condition, functional area is important for predict postoperative progressive collapse of the femoral head.
