抄録

We report a case of transomental hernia presenting interesting abdominal CT findings. An 83-year-old man who had undergone sigmoidectomy for sigmoid colon cancer in 1991 experienced lower abdominal pain diagnosed as ileus. Abdominal CT showed ascites and detailed small intesting findings led to a diagnosed of strangulated ileus necessitating emergency surgery. Laparotomy showed that 40cm of the jejunum about 80cm from Bauhin's valve had herniated through the abdominal hiatus of the greater omentum. The necrotized jejunum was resected and a partial excision of the omentum including the omental hernia was made.
