Abstract

Activated coke was manufactured by using wood biomass in a fluidized bed reactor for adsorption of H₂S in a gasification process. In the previous paper, activated coke was produced from wood biomass in a fixed bed reactor. It was found that the activated coke produced showed good performance in H₂S adsorption. In this study, a fluidized bed reactor was employed for the development of mass production equipment. The activated coke produced in a fluidized bed reactor was found to have comparably good the H₂S adsorption ability to that produced in a fixed bed reactor.
