Abstract

Mammography equipment is designed so that optimal images may be obtained as far as possible with an appropriate radiation dose. However, good images may not necessarily be obtained immediately after the introduction of dedicated mammography equipment and apparatus that meets the current standard.<BR>In order to maintain imaging at a consistently high level, daily and periodical quality control is required. The actual conditions and problems of quality control in mammography screening facilities are described.
