Abstract
Land use planning system in Korea, which had been similar to that of Japan due to their historical backgrounds, were revised in recent years and successfully became simpler and more efficient. The paper is stated the revised system, especially focusing on relationship between plans and governments of respective levels. In the revised system, former complicated land use related plans, which are separated between urban and agricultural area, are wholly integrated and roles and responsibility of respective levels of governments become clear. Implications led by Korean case would be also applicable to land use planning system in Japan, where similar improvement has been discussed but the revision hasn't been realized.
