Abstract

In order to cover the old Japan National Railway (JNR) debt, a lot of JNR properties were sold by the government. Most of those JNR properties are located close to the station. Therefore they are very important sites from the view point of the urban redevelopment. As a matter of fact, a lot of lands are now used for the urban redevelopment and improvement projects. This study aims to show how the old JNR properties were converted, especially focused on its location and size. And we sent the questionnaires to Municipalities which have the old JNR properties and analyze the evaluation of those land use conversions.
