抄録

The patient was a 19-year-old woman who was in the 38^th week of gestation and had been suffered from idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). She was admitted to the hospital for the prenatal administration of large doses of immunoglobulin for pregnancy with ITP. During hospitalizaiton she had the abrupt onset of dyspnea and was diagnosed as having right spontaneous pneumothorax on a chest x-ray film. Despite tube thoracostomy, air leakage persisted. Thus the patient was thought to be a candidate for thoracoscopic surgery. The large doses of immunoglobulin were administered preoperatively and cesarean section was performed, followed by thoracoscopic surgery. The both mother and her infant made satisfactory progress after the operation, and were discharged from the hospital on the 10^th postoperative day. As of 4 years after the operation she has had no recurrence of spontaneous pneumothorax and is pregnant of the second child.
