Abstract
We report two cases of eosinophilic pustular folliculitis. Case 1. The patient was a 62-year-old woman. She noticed an annular erythema with no pruritus, follicular papules, pustules, or scales on her left cheek about 1 month prior to presentation. In November 2000, she was referred to our department. Histopathologically, there were numerous eosinophils which infiltrated in the perifollicles and hair follicles. In spite of the oral administration of indometacin (50∼75mg per day), the annular erythema continued to grow in size. Case 2. The patient was a 25-year-old woman, she developed follicular papules and very pruritic annular erythema on the left cheek one month prior to admission. In May 1995, she was referred to our department. Histopathologically, there were numerous eosinophils which infiltrated into the hair follicles. After the oral administration of suplatast tosilate (300mg per day), her skin lesions rapidly disappeared and did not recur even after discontinuing the medication. The clinical features and treatments of there two cases are very interesting and differ from those previously reported.
