Abstract

Moderate enlargement of bilateral ventricles and partial absence of septum pellucidum were detected in one of 22 clinically normal Beagle dogs using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). No abnormalities of the brain were seen at autopsy and histopathology revealed no findings related to high intraventricular pressure, suggesting that evaluation of the neurological signs and increased intraventricular pressure should be carefully determined in canine cases lacking septum pellucidum and with enlarged bilateral ventricles.
