抄録

Inner Mongolia, where the first author comes from, has abundant wind energy. Windmills become very popular as electric generators. Many families have been using windmill generators to generate electricity. However, they still have many problems in generating small scale electricity, especially when the wind blows weakly. To solve this problem, the authors decided to conduct further research to improve the Savonius windmill. The good features of this windmill are that it will work even though the wind blows strongly or weakly. It also can receive the wind of any direction. The bad point is that it has lower efficiency compared to the other windmills. The main goal of this research is to increase the efficicncy of the Savonius windmill by developing concentrators and diffusers. It is expected that the new system can generate the electric power even with a weak wind. This paper described the concentrator characteristics and their effects on the power performance.
