In this study, we developed practical method based on the concept of dynamic substance flow analysis for the purpose of estimating environmental emission load of DecaBDE. This model framework integrates all the processes of the product chain. The emission load of DecaBDE in Japan was estimated by determining emission parameters, transfer parameters and retardation model for each process. The emission quantity of DecaBDE to each environmental media was estimated that air emission load was peaked 0.1t/year in 1991, and water emission load was 0.4 t/year from 1990 to 2000, and then they had reduced with time. The results also indicated that the source profile for each environmental media shifted from upstream to downstream of product chain. The significant profile of air emission of DecaBDE quantity in 2005 was estimated from the contribution of waste process of product. This emission profile was also identified by sensitivity analysis, in particular, the high priority parameter of air emission quantity through this model were the durable year of electronic products and the air emission factor from incineration plant. The implication of this model in risk assessment was also discussed.
