Abstract

The aggregating structure of hydrogen-bonded comb-like poly(4-vinylphenol)-N,N-dimethyl-n-octadecylamine (PVPh-NDOA) complex in anisole, which is a selective solvent for NDOA, was investigated by small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS). SAXS results showed that PVPh-NDOA complex formed rod-like aggregates in anisole at room temperature. The rod-like structure changed to spherical shape as the temperature was increased. Such a change in aggregating structure was related to formation-dissociation of hydrogen bonding between PVPh and NDOA.<br>
