Abstract

<p>In this paper, we review the research and development activities in the field of electrostatic levitation. This containerless processing technique prevents the reaction between molten materials and crucibles and opens such new research areas as thermophysical property measurements of extremely high temperature melts and novel material synthesis from undercooled liquids.</p>
