A 55-year-old woman who had had a left breast tumor since one year earlier without treatments was seen at a hospital in January 2005 because of epigastric pain which first appeared in the last autumn and was referred to our hospital with a diagnosis of type 4 gastric cancer, poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. When she was first seen at the hospital, a 5.0×4.5cm tumor was palpable in the EC area of the left breast. Fine needle aspiration biopsy cytology provided the diagnosis of invasive lobular carcinoma. Immunohistological stainings resulted in estrogen receptor (ER) (+), progesterone receptor (PgR) (-), and HER (2+). Gastric metastasis of breast cancer was diagnosed by a biopsy conducted at upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. Chemoendocrine therapy with epirubicin + cyclophosphamide (EC), paclitaxel (TXL) and anastrozole (AI) was started. This regimen caused remarkable shrinkage of both the primary and metastatic foci. We present our experience with an excellent effect of chemoendocrine to this case of gastric metastasis of breast cancer.
