Abstract

A case of acute low tone sensory nerve hearing loss with positive 68kDa inner ear autoantibody was reported. Prednisone 60mg administration and tapering was effective shortly. Fourth relapse of hearing loss occurred shortly after hearing recovery during steroid tapering.<BR>Then, combined therapy of cyclophosphamide and prednisone was initiated Hearing loss was completely recovered and normal hearing has been maintained for over 18 months. Consequently, it was suggested that autoimmune pathogenesis played an important role in this lowtone sensory nerve hearing loss.
