Abstract

  For the effective and safe management of the Department of Surgery, full-time clinical engineers and a pharmacist were posted in the operating room. Because they shared duties in the operating room, the number of surgeries increased, and incidence of accidents decreased. It was recognized that excessive workload of operating room nurses and anesthesiologists was reduced, and that nursing duties came to be performed smoothly by questionnaire survey after clinical engineers and a pharmacist placement. Reasonable work sharing was thought to be important for the management of operating department.
