Abstract

Two species of Cleveaceae; Peltolepis quadrata and Sauteria japonica were found in Mt. Senjo, Nagano Prefecture, central Japan. Both species have been known from only a single locality in Japan; the former from Rishiri Island, and the latter from Mt. Yatsu. Information on morphology, taxonomy, and ecology of these species has been limited for Japanese plants, new morphological and ecological notes are given.
