抄録

The increasing amount of energy used in science and technology is the one of major problems for the world. Self-assembly and self-organization are considered as one of the solution techniques. In this paper, evaporation-driven self-assembly of spherical particles (100 nm -20 μm diameter) in two-dimensional layers is introduced. Such structures are called two-dimensional colloidal crystals or particle arrays. The influence of temperature, moisture, physical and chemical interface characteristics on the self-assembled formation is examined. The applications of two-dimensional colloidal crystals, such as a model structure of photonic crystals, are also reported.
