In the Kansai branch, it is thought that the surveillance study on the street lighting is an important theme as the crime-busting measure, and the examination concerning the street lighting and the crime control has been executed since the 1980's. This paper reports the result since 2006 among research activities concerning the crime prevention lighting in the Kansai branch. They are studies on chromatic lighting of which the social background is the fashion of the blue crime prevention light. First, physical features of chromatic light such as spectral radiation, chromacity, mesopic illuminance and luminous efficacy are outlined. Next, the influence of chromatic light on the visibility, the impression and the physiological response are shown. Finally, the result of the survey on the blue crime prevention light is shown, and the note in the crime prevention measures is referred.
