Abstract

The open double-decker buses run all over the world. Since these buses don't have the roof and have the high pointview, many tourists can enjoy urban landscape. The aim of this paper is to characterize the urban landscape visiblefrom the open double-decker buses and to show the conditions on cities where such buses could be introduced. First,we compare the sizes of appearance of the sky from the buses and pedestrian, and identify the differences of thesesizes. Second, we study how to control the position the open double-decker buses in order to improve landscapefrom the buses. Finally, we examine the impact of curvature of roads on the speed of the angles to the view.
