利き手と非利き手作業時における脳循環動態の比較 Changes of Cerebral Oxygenation as Measured by Near-Infrared Spectroscopy in Healthy Adults : a Comparison of the Activities of the Dominant and Non-Dominant Hands

〔目的〕健常成人を対象に利き手と,非利き手を使用した際の前頭葉の脳血流量を比較検討した.〔対象と方法〕健常な男女12名(男性9名,女性3名,年齢20.3±0.5歳,対象者のすべてが右利き)を対象に,蚊取り線香をかたどった渦巻きと同じ大きさの円を10秒間書いてもらい,次に渦巻きの壁に当たらないようにできるだけ早く線を書いてもらった.この渦巻き課題を利き手,非利き手で行った際の各所要時間と施行中の酸素化ヘモグロビン(HbO<sub>2</sub>)の変化をNIRSを用いて測定した.〔結果〕利き手と非利き手を用いた作業時のHbO<sub>2</sub>に有意な差が認められ,非利き手使用時に有意にHbO<sub>2</sub>が高まった.〔結語〕利き手よりも非利き手を使用したほうが,前頭葉の脳血流量が増加することが示唆された.

[Purpose] We examined and compared cerebral oxygenation in the frontal lobe when healthy adult subjects used their dominant and non-dominant hands. [Subjects and Method] The subjects were 12 healthy right-handed persons (9 males and 3 females, average age 20.3±0.5 years). They were asked to draw a coil, like a mosquito coil and of the same diameter, in 10 s. They were then asked to draw as quickly as possible a line within the coil without touching the walls of the coil. During performance of these tasks, we measured changes in oxy-hemoglobin (HbO<sub>2</sub>) using NIRS and task times for both the dominant and non-dominant hands. [Results] A significant difference was found between HbO<sub>2</sub> during task performance by the dominant hand and the non-dominant hand, and HbO<sub>2</sub> was significantly higher when the non-dominant hand performed the task. [Conclusion] The results suggest that cerebral oxygenation in the frontal lobe increases more when the non-dominant hand is used rather than the dominant hand.
