Abstract

Doping 20 wt % Ni/ZrO2 with 0.1 and 1.0 wt % Li prevented the adsorption and methanation of CO2 and promoted the methanation of CO. Lithium-doped NiC formed the active site in the catalyst. Carburized undoped Ni/ZrO2, Cs-doped Ni/ZrO2, and reduced Li-doped Ni/ZrO2 catalysts did not prevent CO2 methanation.
