Abstract
We examined the significance of pre and postoperative administration of Liu-Jun-Zi-Tang (Rikkunshito) for children with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
We recognized that on preoperative administration of Rikkunshito the symptoms had either significantly decreased or had stopped.
We had more time before the operation because their symptoms were decreased by Rikkunshito.
We also recognized the effectiveness of Rikkunshito in postoperative patients of laparoscopic fundoplication, especially children with severe motor and intellectual disabilities.
Their symptom of nausea and vomiting disappeared after a dose of Rikkunshito.
In conclusion, we recognized that Rikkunshito is effective for both pre and postoperative children with GERD.
