This study investigated that the detection of deception was related to the amplitudes of the steady-state visual evoked field (SSVEF) in magnetoencephalgraphy (MEG). We used four illustrated symbol cards (triangle, square, circle, and rhombus). Each subject then selected one card for using as critical condition and the other three cards were used under non-critical condition. The visual stimuli of the symbol were presented at 20Hz. SSVEF in MEG were measured with a 122-channel magnetometer system. We obtained the source waveform of SSVEF and carried out a Hilbert-transform. As a result, the amplitude of SSVEF in critical condition was larger than the non-critical condition at duration of 0.5s to 1.0s after the stimulus (p<0.05). This result indicates that the SSVEF in MEG is related to a certain psychical activity in human.
