大阪府能勢町の「三草山ゼフィルスの森」において,1996年6月27日にゼフィルス類成虫の日周活動性ならびに摂食行動に関する調査を行った。ヒロオビミドリシジミは11時～12時をピークとして10時から15時前まで活発に活動するのに対して,ウラジロミドリシジミはヒロオビミドリシジミが活動しない10時前と15時以降に活発に飛翔するのが観察された。ミズイロオナガシジミは6～7時と14～16時前後に,ウラナミアカシジミは16～18時前後に活動するのが観察された。数種のゼフィルス類については,配偶行動が観察された。ゼフィルス類ばナラガシワ,クヌギなどの低・高木からなるさまざまな環境を活動場所としており,特にヒロオビミドリシジミはナラガシワ高木,ウラナミアカシジミはクヌギ低木周辺を飛翔する個体が多い傾向が認められた。また,ヒロオビミドリシジミ,ウラジロミドリシジミ,ウラナミアカシジミ,ミズイロオナガシジミなどのゼフィルス類では,土に活動性が低くなった時間帯にナラガシワの未熟果から吸汁する行動が観察された。

Daily activity pattern and feeding behavior in adults of Zephyrus species (Lepidoptera, Lycaenidae) were investigated in Mt. Mikusa, northern Osaka Prefecture on 27 June, 1996 . Favonius cognatus, being active from 1000 to 1500 hours, and F. saphirinus, being active before 1000 and after 1500 hours, were clearly segregated the flying periods. Antigius attilia was active from 600 to 700 and from 1400 to 1600 hours. Japonica saepestnata was most active from 1600 to 1800 hours. Mating behaviors of several Zephyrus species were observed during the period when males of the species were actively flying It was found that immature acorns of Quercus aliena were utilized as feeding resource by some Zephyrus species, such as Favonius cognatus, F saphirinus, Japonica saepestriata, and Antigius attilia.
