本研究は,外来受診時に採血をうける3歳から7歳の小児を対象に,採血によって小児が感じる痛みの程度と行動に表れる反応について,発達段階や気質などによる特徴を明らかにすることを目的とした。本研究で見出された結果を以下に示す。1.小児によるFace Pain Scaleの評価と観察された行動スケールの総点とは高い相関が認められた。2.処置中に泣いていた小児は泣かなかった小児より年齢が低く,Face Pain Scaleの評価が高かった。3.年齢が高いほど行動スケールの総点が低かったが,Face Pain Scaleの評価は必ずしも低くなかった。4.行動スケールの総点は気質のカテゴリーである機嫌の点数と関連性があった。

This study was to explore children's pain level and behavioral responses of 3-7year old children to the venipuncture performed at the pediatric out-patient treatment room. The findings were as follows. 1. A close correlation was found between face scale ratings and behavioral scale scores. 2. Those who cried during the procedure were younger and had higher on face scale ratings than those who didn't. 3. The older the age. the lower the behavioral scale scores but not necessarily lower on the face scale ratings. 4. Behavioral scale scores were correlated with scores on the quality of mood category of temperament characteristic.
