Abstract

In order to run in full speed on the curved traffic lane, we must sometimes construct a curved beam bridge or a curved space frame bridge on the river and the valley. The former has been studied by many investigators, but the latter has not jet been investigated except by Gottfeldt. At first I describe here on the stress analysis of the curved space frame bridge by using the difference equations when it is loaded with vertical loads, tangential loads, and centrifugal loads. Next, I expand this method to the curved truss bridge with n-2 panels in the outside truss and n panels in the inside truss. We can use those results in the cases when the curved bridge is applied with wind load or seismic load.
