Abstract

The authors have proposed a numerical approach for a snowboard turn. In the approach, the snowboarder's snowboard control is represented by the horizontal motion of a skier's center of gravity and an action of the vertical force from the snowboarder to the snowboard. In the present study, referring a snowboard control videotaped on a slope, the snowboard control is produced using the approach developed for the production of a ski control. From the snowboard control produced, the horizontal motion of the snowboarder's center of gravity the vertical force from the snowboarder to the snowboard, and an edging angle between snowboard and slope are estimated for the simulation of the snowboard turn.
