GEOMAGNETIC PALEOINTENSITY EXPERIMENT ON IGNEOUS AND METAMORPHIC ROCKS FROM ENDERBY LAND IN NAPIER COMPLEX, ANTARCTICA

Abstract

The modified Thelliers' and Shaw's methods are applied to granulite and igneous rocks from Mt. Riiser-Larsen in Enderby Land, some of which were dated by the K-Ar method to be of 1.2-1.4Ga. Very low paleointensities are suggested from high temperature components of the Thelliers-type results and from the Shaw-type experiment.
