抄録

We report here a rare operative case of liposarcoma in the mediastinum, with resection and reconstruction of the chest wall.<BR>A 79-year-old man was admitted to our hospital because of asymptomatic abnormal shadow in the right hilum on a chest X-ray. As a benign mediastinal tumor like teratoma was suspected, extirpation of the mediastinal tumor and partial resection of the sternum and ribs were performed. The defect of chest wall was reconstructed by the Marlex-resin sandwich. Eleven months after the operation, he died of multiple metastase and local recurrence.
