The author states in this report on the recent progress in the field of testing and inspecting iron steel in America for which he observed chiefly when he participated as one of the representatives of Japan in the World Metallurgical Congress held in U.S.A. in 1951. He also mentions the impressions received on the present conditions of analysis, non-destructve test, destructive test and quality control.
