Abstract

Compatibilities of five kinds of liquids in combination with Brocin® Solution or Brocin®-Codeine Syr., Conc.(Bro-Code) were investigated with regard to changes in appearance, redistribution and pH value, and high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) determination of the principal ingredients of five kinds of liquids, together with thin layer chromatographic (TLC) determination of Bisolvon admixture.<BR>In the combination of Astomin® Syrup, precipitation was observed, while in that of Pontal® Syrup, decrease of redistribution was observed. In the combination of Zaditen® Syrup, decrease of Ketotifen fumarate content was found, whereas it was prevented at 5°C.And in the combination of Bisolvon; Solution, decrease of Bromhexine hydrochloride content was found, whereas it was prevented only in that with Brocin Solution at 5°C. Furthermore in the determination with TLC, quantitative determination values of Bisolvon admixture were about the same as the results with HPLC. From the above results, it is indicated that Astomin Syrup and Pontal Syrup are imcompatible with Brocin Solution and Bro-Code, and Bisolvon Solution is imcompatible with Bro-Code.
