Abstract
The following five potato selections and crosses: BARI TPS 1, P-364 × TPS-67, ‘Atzimba’ × TS-15, MF-I × TS-15 and MF-II × TS-15 were made to obtain true potato seeds for successive clonal tuber productions. The first year crops, derived from these potato seeds that were free from virus and bacterial wilt and yielded 48.5 t/ha-1. In the second and third year, the yield decreased to 31.2 and 27.9 t/ha-1, respectively while disease incidence increased. Total tuber yield of BARI TPS 1 and P-364 × TPS-67 were significantly higher than other seed progenies, but similar to the commercial cultivar Diamant. Virus infection of MF-I × TS-15 and MF-II × TS-15 were significantly lower than ‘Diamant’, especially in the third year.
