Abstract

Two different sea-squirt antigen extracts, one was prepared by Dextrose-Phenol method and others by Tuberculin Active peptide method, were used in the patients with sea-squirt asthma. Following results were obtained. 1) In the cases of intradermal test, extraordinarily high positive rate were observed concerning each kind of the above mentioned extracts only in the patients with sea-squirt asthma. 2) The antigenicity of the both kind of antigen extracts were not lost by heating 100℃, 20 minutes. 3) In the cases of the conjunctival test, the Dextrose-Phenol method antigen extract showed very high positive rate; whereas, the Tuberculin Active Peptide method antigen extract showed extreamely low. 4) In the cases of Prausnitz-Kustner test, the percentage of positive rate were almost the same in each kind of the antigen extract. 5) Hyposensitization therapy for the patients with sea-squirt asthma using the Dextrose-Phenol method and Tuberculin Active Peptide methode antigen extracts were samely effective. 6) Sea-squirt antigen extract were prepared from several species of the sea-squirt, but the difference of the species of the sea-squirt were not related with the effect of hyposensitization therapy and the results of the intradermal test, conjunctival test or Prausnitz-Kustner test.
