Many studies and approaches have been examined in order to control autonomous mobile robot systems. We consider it is an important problem for robots to recognize paths and intersections. And path-information is very useful for robots navigations. In this paper we considered the behavior of robots in corridor environments and studied the path recognition method. We attempted to reason what corridor situation the robot is in and faces. In this paper, we propose the system that scans ultrasonic reflections from walls of corridors by using the integration-type ultrasonic circuit and applies a distance-type fuzzy reasoning to scanned data. And the results show that this system had potential to recognize paths.
