We compared the diameters, rigidity, and structures of three kinds of disporsable spinal needles which are availiable in Japan. In the clinical cases, we also measured the velocity of the spinal fluid reflux. We could not find significant differences among the external diameters of the needles. However, there were some differences among their internal diameters and structures. In the needles with bigger internal diameter, the reflux was faster, but the rigidity was smaller. The structural differences of the needles had largest influence on the recognition time of the spinal fluid reflux in the clinical cases.
