Abstract

The 1/f (f inverse) fluctuation is observed in nature quite generally. It is found that the 1/f fluctuation influences the human brain, and strongly settles the central nerve system. However the mechanism of this phenomenon is unknown as yet. This paper suggests that the interaction between the brain stem and the limbic system is responsible for this mechanism. The 1/f fluctuation is detected by the A10 nuclei (a pair of small neural network) in the brain stem, and the excited A10 stimulates the amygdaloid body in the limbic system. Then the amygdaloid body exhibits an emotional response (satisfaction) instinctively. When the 1/f fluctuation vanishes, the brain will recognize that a certain kind of dangerous situation progresses inside or outside of the body.
