Abstract
The novel Diels-Alder adduct, dicaffeoyl quinone as its hydrate, was formed from the oxidation of 3,4-dihydroxycinnamic acid (caffeic acid) with NaIO4. The structure of this hydrate was determined by spectroscopic methods.<br>
