Abstract
We developed the collaborative concept mapping software to reconstruct learning processes. The functional features of the software as follows : learners can (a) create a concept map collaboratively on a computer network, (b) play back all the creation processes of his/her concept map, and (c) improve his/her concept map anytime by undoing. The purpose of this study is to evaluate practically the usefulness of the software, through designing a 6th grade science lesson. This lesson was designed to teach the properties of acid solutions, and foster learners to build their own "acid theories" through creating concept maps and reflecting the process with the software. As a result of (a) analysis of the learners' concept maps, (b) analysis of their operational history, (c) interaction analysis and (d) a questionnaire survey, the software proved to be effective for supporting learner's activities.
