本論文では，携帯端末向けの案内地図を詳細な地図情報から動的に生成する手法を提案し，その有効性を検証した．この案内地図は一般に利用されている案内地図の表現の特徴に基づいてルートマップ型，サーベイマップ型，デフォルメマップ型の3種類の表現で構成される．こうした案内地図は従来の道路ネットワークデータによる手法に加えて，空間オブジェクトネットワークデータを用いて道路や目標物となる空間オブジェクトを再配置する手法により生成することができる．この手法を実装したシステムを開発し，携帯端末でも良好に表示可能な3種類の案内地図表現が生成できることを確認した．また，システムの適応分野としてナビゲーションの支援を取り上げ，携帯端末に表示された案内地図を利用して人が実際に目的地まで移動するという実験を行った．その結果，良好にナビゲーション支援を行うことができ，本手法の有効性を確認できた．

We are working towards new services focused on supporting navigation in mobile environment.In this paper, we describe a system to generate route guide maps for mobile terminals.To browse geographical information easily under restrictions of mobile environment,it is essential that geographical information have simple and intuitive representations.Our maps are based on three effective representations from the viewpoint of spatial recognition--route map type, survey map type and deformed map type.Proposed method is realized by selecting truly required information from detailed maps and re-arranging them for easy understanding using a new conceptual structural model for all figures of maps.Using proposed method, our system can dynamically generate three types of route guide map,which are available for very small display of a cellular phone.In experiments we verified the effectiveness of proposed method for navigation support in mobile environment.Using our system, we can easy browse route guide maps even with mobile terminals.
