Abstract

This paper describes some characteristics of a tuning fork type vibrator when rotated around its central axis. Under such condition, subvibration occurs owing to Coriolis' force which is proportional to angular velocity. The sensitivity of Occurrence of subvibration for angular velocity and shape of output graphs recorded for subvibration amplitude against angular velocity are studied theoretically and experimentally. As a result the following is concluded:(1) The relative sensitivity is proportional to Ω/(Eω) where Ω is Ω-factor of the main vibratibn, E is Young's modulus, and ω is angular velocity. (2) Non-linearity of output graph depends mainly on residual sub-vibration in non-rotational state.
